William

Barr.

I decided to explore representations of the surreal and unexplainable; the subjects of my photos are things that appear mysterious and often otherworldly. Photographs, by virtue of what they are, generally contain something that already exists but depicted through the lens of the photographer. By using 3D renders, I am able to incorporate surreal or strange things that do not exist. In theory, I am no longer bound by reality, and instead, I am only limited by the sum of what I can create in 3D and the photos I can take in the real world. As my concentration progressed, the subjects of the photos became less human - more inorganic. This is evidenced by the increasing number of photos that feature structures/objects rather than living or biotic entities.
