Marashi.

My portfolio is based on the question of what the world would look like in the case of a catastrophic event occurring. The "Event" has caused a slew of effects such as the skyline changing, the environment itself changing to a purple tint, potential effects on humans, and more. This idea of mine first started with the differences in an environment caused by an incomprehensible destructive force. As I progressed through my work, I wanted to add what wasn’t originally there to further tell a story. For example, photos #3 through #6 include the irradiating effects from photo #2 crawling in the distant background. As I continued, I added elements such as a gaseous beam, a radiating well, and the specks of radiation on the floor in photos #7, #9, and #10 to further develop the atmosphere and the progress of the "Event".

This investigation takes you on a journey that encaptures what would happen if our life was changed by something as devastating as a Nuclear bomb and its everlasting effects on our environment. It's meant to take you to a place of uneasiness and desolation while retaining a form of aesthetic beauty. This work should make you recognize a world beyond its ruination.
