Milano.

I’ve grown up with the trauma of sick family members, and it has affected me but hope, love and optimism have gotten me through it all.  For my sustained investigation, I wanted to create works that showed that while death is always present in life,  life is always present around death too.

I chose to draw medical objects that have been the saviors to my family members mixed with flowers and pleasing colors to represent the beauty of life.  Each one of my pieces has dark aspects to it, but represents hopefulness too. Throughout my sustained investigation, I was able to explore different mediums and colors that I would not necessarily use because they fit the meaning of the story I am trying to tell in each one of my pieces. By using my life story as the start for my art pieces I was really able to connect with the work and feel the emotions.
