The main question that guided my sustained investigation was "how much of an effect can a town have on someone?" I really didn’t know what the response to this question was, and I wanted to find out the answer. A town can have different impacts on every person, so to help me personally respond to this question, with each image I included a specific memory that I have from that place that I was taking a picture of. I knew that I wanted to do a project based on my hometown because it's very important to me and it's shaped me into the person that I am today. I also knew that I wanted my entire portfolio to be film photographs because I find that film photography has a deeper way of really capturing an image. It gives the image a timeless kind of feeling whenever you look at it, no matter how old the image actually is. Overall, my investigation has changed quite substantially. One thing that I constantly did was going back to the "drawing board" because I was always thinking about how I could change my investigation to make it better. But, if I couldn’t find anything else to change, then I knew that it was the best way I wanted it to be.
