The world nowadays is so focused on new technology and new innovations that the buildings that don't fit with the new innovations are left to rot and are forgotten by society. People don't want to be associated with these places that were left astray and for nature to simply take over it, they put barriers around them to keep these places hidden. Although, these barriers are what makes it more tempting for someone to peek inside, wonder why someone wouldn't want anyone else to enter and see what's left of this place. Some of these barriers have been broken down by nature, covered up by nature as shown in images 1 and 2, or broken down by someone destroying it because their curiosity got the best of them and they wanted to see what was inside, as shown in images 1,2,4,5, and 6. Some of these people leave their mark with graffiti, which is now a major part of the abandoned culture as shown in images 7,8, and 9. With all that in mind, I wanted to shed light on these abandoned places because they were once a new innovation and now they are a part of a "Forgotten Heritage" as photographer Matthew Emmett would call it.
