Sarfaty.
For my sustained investigation, I wanted to use the shapes and colors seen in landscapes to create a series of 2-D designs.
I was first inspired by the shape of an abstract sculpture I drew from observation in a sculpture garden. I saw the background shapes of trees as other abstract shapes. This gave me the idea to focus on landscapes as combinations of shapes, colors, and textures. As I continued, I became more interested in pattern, reinterpreting what I saw into increasingly fanciful representations of landscapes.
