My investigation looks closer at how human civilization and innovation grows on top of the natural world. Every year, month, and day, humans continue to develop and build to expand their technology, civilizations, and presence. Human advancement, however, often comes in at the expense of natural land that came way before humans did. At first, I would use singular photos to demonstrate my point. However, I started experimenting with diptychs. Although it required the use of more photos, it proved to be a much more effective way of portraying my investigation. The left photo in the diptych would show the landscape which is the BEFORE section of the photo. The right side would show the developed portion and would be what the PRESENT is. The skylines, tree lines, and cliffs are lined up to make the transition the most accurate that it can be. Some of the photos are just straight comparisons.
